It’s Nice That, front cover (pictured below) I  collected for its use of type. The left aligned type creates a strong line positioned overlapping a geometric image on block colour. I think  the vertical lines from the image and type creates a rhythmic yet clean approach, a contemporary and edgy style – one that I really like at the moment.

A similar  type style is found on 214 Magazine for Topshop

Sarah Kissell’s identity work for Urban Outfitters’ make-up, which has just the right amount of ‘effortlessly cool’ to make it feel right at home. Nice type idea- simple execution, makes it bold and fun with a modern and quirky feel.

“If there is anything that can be observed about human behaviour by examining social media, it’s that people are basically restless. They’re always looking for something new to read, watch, see and interact with.”  Tony B of the SEO Agency

Yessss!!! Heres to championing positive change

April 19, 2011

The D&AD White Pencil is awarded to a creative idea that that changes the world for the better.

This is brilliant! Big organisations like D&AD championing the power and possibilities of design, giving a platform for the creative community to work on a set project that they can control the direction of and feel hugely passionate about and to then award and celebrate the work.

The background:

“It’s about harnessing that power to make a real difference in the world around us. It’s about demonstrating the hidden potential in D&AD’s remit of the perpetuation of creative communication. And most importantly to realise our communities ability to lend huge impact and strength to the campaigning voices of others and bring their messages and demands for change to the widest and most powerful audience.

And if you are a creative person the White Pencil is a challenge. We want you to use your talent and skills to respond to the brief that we, and our partner, are setting you and your peers. The reward is huge – seeing your ideas make a positive difference to issues that affect all of humanity.”
